VIDEO: At Davos, Aramco looks to turn net-zero discussion to intermediate goals

I think looking at 2022, clearly the dialogue around the energy system got more attention.

Previously, you feel it’s a one-way dialogue, but now you have more and more people interested to listen and be part of that solution.

It’s great to see so many companies and countries committing to net zero. A lot of it is 2050 and 2060, but I think the real discussion and the real allocation of resources needs to happen at the intermediate course.

We need to start discussing 2025, 2027. What are our intermediate goals in that journey, getting to net zero by 2050?

Because this discussion will surface so many blind spots, supply chain issues, economics in light of interest rates increasing, energy prices going up or down. It’s a dynamic discussion, and it requires so many people around the table that are part of the system going forward.
