This Day in History (1972): Student benefit proceeds given to private Dammam girls school

The representative group of Aramco returning students last week presented to the National Secondary School for Girls in Dammam the proceeds from the 1972 Student Benefit Show. The show was sponsored by the Dhahran Women's Group and held at the Dhahran School Gymnasium in late July.

Last year's donation assisted 45 girls in continuing their secondary studies.

The National Secondary School for Girls (Madaris at-Tarbiya al-Ahliya), the first and only private secondary school for girls in the Eastern Province, opened its doors in October 1970. 

The school currently has 12 teachers for 139 students in six classes. During the past academic year, 91% in the science department made passing grades.
