Ithra drives cleanup effort on World Environmental Day
Young volunteers join forces with Ithra, Aramco in initiative to highlight the environment.
The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) supported an initiative led by Ithra volunteers, highlighting the importance of World Environment Day on June 5, and spreading environmental awareness among members of the community.
Seventy volunteers between the ages of 10- to 20-years-old participated in the event along with Ithra employees, who accumulated a total of 140 volunteering hours.
The initiative resulted in 200 full trash bags being segregated into cans, paper, plastic bags, and bottles.
Several Aramco departments supported the initiative, including Industrial Security who provided patrols, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare who provided medical staff, and Transportation who provided the buses.
The teams worked collectively to ensure that all COVID-19 precautions, and guidelines were followed at each stage of the event.
