We are working with partners on advancing lower-carbon fuel technologies as a potential long-term carbon reduction pathway.
Lower-carbon fuels in motorsports
The global energy transition is likely to be driven, in part, by a shift in the production of fuels.
Internal combustion engine vehicles are expected to continue to make up a significant share of global vehicles on the road.
We are working with partners on advancing lower-carbon fuel technologies as a potential long-term carbon emissions reduction pathway
Lower-carbon fuels can be designed to be chemically similar to conventional fuels on the market such as gasoline, diesel, or jet fuel, thereby offering an alternative to traditional fuels that can be “dropped-in’’ to existing engines and infrastructure as part of a fuel blend with reduced lifecycle-carbon emissions.
As the exclusive supplier of lower-carbon fuels to all Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars, we’re testing these fuels on the race track to learn how they perform and how they could inform the development of lower-carbon passenger vehicle fuels.
For the 2026 season, we will also be the supplier of lower-carbon fuel to the Aston Martin Aramco F1™ Team.
