But if you look at Aramco, we are the greenest oil producers in the world, and unfortunately, not a lot of people know about this.
I’m going to talk about two things:
One is our current operations in fossil fuels, and second thing, in the renewable energy.
So if you look at the barrel of oil that Aramco produces, it emits 10.5 kilograms of carbon dioxide, CO2.
If you want to compare the same oil barrel to the industry, it is about 38 kilograms. So we are emitting somewhere like 25-27% of what others are doing.
If the other oil and gas companies around the world adopt what Aramco is doing, I think we will be reducing emissions by huge percentages.
I think it’s about 1 gigaton of CO2 emissions that can be reduced; which is, I think, equal to 1/3 of annual carbon emissions from residential and commercial sectors.
