Meshari M. Alshaikhmubarak appointed as a senior vice president

Meshari M. Alshaikhmubarak was appointed as senior vice president of the Office of the Chairman, effective Jan. 1, 2023, after serving in the role of general manager of the Office of the Chairman since December 2019. 

Prior to his current position, Alshaikhmubarak served as acting general manager of the Office of the president and CEO, and previously as manager of the Inspection Department within Engineering Services. 

In the latter role, he was responsible for ensuring all construction projects achieved and maintained the highest quality, which included also supporting the In-Kingdom Total Value Add (iktva) initiative, to increase local content and strengthen the Kingdom’s industrial capabilities.

After joining Aramco in 1993 as a participant in the College Degree Program for Non-Employees (CDPNE), Alshaikhmubarak earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University, USA (1998). 

He also holds an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University, U.K. (2004), and an M.S. degree in advanced studies in international oil and gas leadership from the Graduate Institute, Switzerland (IHEID) (2014).

Alshaikhmubarak spent the early part of his career as a rotating equipment engineer before going on to hold various leadership positions in Upstream operations, maintenance, and engineering. Previous roles include superintendent of the Oil Processing Division at Abqaiq — Aramco’s largest oil processing and crude stabilization facility — and assistant to the senior vice president of Upstream, with responsibilities around the planning and performance management function of the entire Upstream business line.

He has completed several leadership and management development programs, including the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University, and the Saudi Aramco Management Development Seminar in Washington, D.C.
