Made in Saudi Arabia: Aramco recognizes elite partners, local quality
“It’s more evidence that together we are building a ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ supply chain, improving Aramco’s resilience, and enhancing our ability to supply energy to the world.”
Those partners of Aramco’s Engineering Services who have demonstrated excellence in local manufacturing have been lauded at a special awards ceremony held in the company’s headquarters in Dhahran.
The 2022 Local Manufacturers’ Quality Excellence Awards are designed to recognize excellent service provision, a high level of Saudization, and the reliability of the supply chain, not just for Aramco and the Kingdom, but for the entire region.
The awards are divided into three categories — Large Manufacturers, Small and Medium Manufacturers, and Best Improved Quality Performance.
Aramco’s senior vice president of Engineering Services, Motaz A. Al Mashouk, was joined by the company’s acting vice president and chief engineer, Walid A. Al Naeem, and the company’s Inspection Department manager, Bader A. Busbait, to confer honors on the top performing manufacturers.
In his opening remarks, Al Mashouk said, “Today we recognize suppliers who not only are mission-critical to Aramco’s operations but who reliably and consistently deliver, to the very highest standards of quality, through expert management and advanced production techniques, effective collaboration, and by embracing circular economy principles.”
Mashouk noted, “It’s more evidence that together we are building a ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ supply chain, improving Aramco’s resilience, and enhancing our ability to supply energy to the world.
But this isn’t just about Aramco’s procurement lifecycle — it’s bigger than that. Growing and evolving the Kingdom’s industrial base is a key objective of Vision 2030.

“Quite simply, we want Saudi Arabia to become a manufacturing powerhouse, a leading hub for energy and industrial services, where the words ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ are a badge of quality, and a mark of pride.
“That is the goal, and I believe we are on our way,” Al Mashouk concluded.
The first-place winners of the three categories were: Al-Qahtani Pipe Coating Industries (Large Manufacturers); Specialized Oil and Gas Engineering Co. (Small and Medium Manufacturers); and the Best Improved Quality Performance award was shared by Future Pipe Industries and Flowserve Abahsain Flow Control Company.
In his closing remarks, acting chief engineer Al Naeem, said, “All of you have demonstrated excellence across your business operation. This doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hard work, it takes teamwork, it takes sustained commitment to exceptional performance. So, let me thank you for achieving these results. And let me urge you to keep doing what you do best: delivering safe, reliable, high-quality operations.”
