The J24 Category team was one of eight teams to tack the challenging conditions.

Saudi team breezes to fine finish at 20th Kingdom Fleet Race in Bahrain

This past weekend (Dec. 15-17), the J24 Saudi Sailing Team competed and the 20th Kingdom Fleet Race Event held in Bahrain. 

 

The race was hosted by Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Arab Sailing Federation and the Bahrain sailing federation. 

 

The competition was over three days, fitting in 10races in difficult conditions. More than eight teams attended and raced to the finish lines. 

 

The racing was highly competitive on Sailing keelboat (J24 category) with the top positions changing readily throughout the event as the wind shifted. The Saudi team is a combination of Aramcons and Saudi athletes, whom were led by Coach Yousif Lahej. The team finished in third place overall and second place within the GCC.
