Five things you can do to be the best version of yourself.

Your Voice: Aim higher and set high standards and values for yourself

Why do you want to fit inside a glass slipper?

We were asked like Cinderella was, why do you want to fit inside a glass slipper when you can shatter the glass ceiling?

Actually, I am not very fond of this phrase “breaking the glass ceiling.”

It doesn’t sound good to me as it takes the context of everything we’ve done such as achievements, hard work, and puts it into a box, as of an ambition to find the glass ceiling and break it. Not at all, to be really honest with you, we should never be on a mission to break and shatter anything.

All you need to chase your dreams, are your ambitions, and then to eventually evolve to become the best version of yourself that you can be.

In fact, it doesn’t mean that the glass ceiling doesn’t exist, of course it exists. Countless women and men run into it through their personal lives, and are highly dedicated to remove such obstacles they constantly challenge.

The Oxford dictionary’s definition of a glass ceiling is “an acknowledged barrier in advancement to a profession.”

Why did I choose to write this article if I don’t agree with a title of breaking the ceiling? It is because that when going through our life experiences, we can present the tools to live our dreams, while not making that glass ceiling as one of our ultimate goals. We should aim higher and set high standards and values for ourselves.

Always remember to start every journey in your life by being fearless, and utterly ambitious.

None of us are perfect; we all fall, get up, make mistakes, and finally learn from them.

Each one of us has to have his own formula to follow, and eventually, come up with a list to become the best version of us.

First, be ambitious.

Second, let your dreams fly.

Third, don’t give up on your dream.

Fourth, take risks and surround yourself with good people.

Last but not least, don’t take yourself too seriously.

Believe in yourself, and go with different perspectives of life, and always remember to start it with being fearless and more ambitious.
