Nawaf K. Al-Dabal appointed executive director of Group Finance and Development Support
Al-Dabal most recently held the position of assistant treasurer and general manager of Strategic Finance and Development.
Nawaf K. Al-Dabal has been appointed as executive director of Group Finance and Development Support, effective Oct. 1, 2022.
Prior to this appointment, Al-Dabal held the position of assistant treasurer and general manager of the Strategic Finance and Development organization, a role he had held since February 2019. Prior to that, Al-Dabal served as general manager of Transaction Development in New Business Development since June 2018.
He has held several managerial posts managing Downstream Transactions. Al-Dabal was in charge of the successful execution of several large-scale downstream business development transactions, including the acquisition of Shell’s share in Motiva in the U.S. and SASREF in Saudi Arabia, and the investment in Hyundai Oil Bank in South Korea. He also served as manager of the Joint Venture Support & Financial Consulting Department, manager of IPO Readiness, and the head of Investment Analysis in Corporate Planning.
Al-Dabal spearheaded several major corporate initiatives, including the company’s inaugural international Sukuk issuance, the launch of Global Treasury, which strives to optimize and capture value from treasury operations globally, and the establishment of Altamayyuz Academy, a Kingdomwide initiative to develop future leaders of finance and accounting.
Al-Dabal currently chairs the Board of Directors of both Stellar Insurance and Vela International Marine Ltd. He is also a director at the Board of Aramco Overseas Company (AOC), Wa’ed, and the recently established Aramco Digital Company (ADC). Previously, Al-Dabal served on the Boards of JASARA, SASREF, SPOL, and Tasheelat Marketing Company JV.
He joined Aramco in January 1997 with the International Joint Venture Coordination Department. Al-Dabal holds a B.S. degree in Finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, an MBA from Rice University, and a master’s degree in International Oil & Gas Leadership from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School General Management Program.
