Manibo wins Saudi National Day quiz grand prize

In the nine-day Aramco Life Saudi National Day Quiz, there were many winners. But the employee who emerged as the Grand Prize winner was Michael G. Manibo, an assistant engineer in the Operational Excellence and Compliance Group Division of the Community and Public Projects Department. 

Manibo was one of more than 5,340 participants overall in the quiz, one of the 3,814 who participated on the first day, and one of 1,500 employees who participated each day. And when Aramco Life randomly selected one name out of the 362 employees who answered the quiz question correctly, nine days in a row, Manibo’s name was the one that was selected. 

Manibo received a gift card worth SR5,000 from Al Shaia Group of retail stores like H&M and Pottery Barn and restaurants like Texas Roadhouse and Starbucks. 

Manibo has been fascinated by Saudi history ever since he joined Aramco more than 14 years ago.

The National Day quiz questions were difficult, he added, but “eventually the right answer comes to your mind.”

Manibo said he feels like he is lucky to witness such a transformative time in Saudi history, as the Kingdom makes rapid strides toward its Vision 2030 goals. “The aesthetics of Saudi Arabia are changing so fast,” he said. “It is becoming more and more modern, in the architecture and the roads and in society.”

As an employee in the Community and Public Projects Department, Manibo and his colleagues get to see this transformation up close, working on housing projects in the communities where Aramco operates and in the construction of Aramco’s ultra-modern new EXPEC ARC laboratories in Dhahran. 

For their part, daily quiz winners — including Ryan M. Alzahrani, Fatima H. Alkaba, Majed T. Otaibi, Ayat A. Albrahim, Ahmed M. Almunif, Khalid A. Harthi, Alaa I. Binmerdah, Taleb H. Zoayed, and Eisa A. Sager — also received gift cards of SR600 from Lulu.
