Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare announce visiting medical experts

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) will host a number of experts from Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) in October.

From Oct. 2-6, JHM rheumatology expert Dr. Christopher Mecoli will be joining JHAH Dhahran for a medical rotation. An assistant professor of Medicine and director of Research Operations and physician lead for the Myositis Precision Center of Excellence, Mecoli puts his research focus on the association between cancer and myositis, the development of myositis patient-reported outcome measures, and auto-antibodies.

 

Mecoli's visit is allotted for prescheduled complex cases and procedures at JHAH.

JHM urology expert Dr. Edward Wright will be on medical rotation at JHAH Dhahran on Oct. 9-13. Wright is the director of the Reconstructive and Neurological Urology Division, chief of Urology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and associate professor of urology.

 

Wright’s specialty is mending urological body parts and restoring functionality in them. His clinical and research interests are in male and female urinary incontinence, complex voiding dysfunction, and pelvic urinary reconstructive surgery.

 

His visit is allotted for prescheduled complex cases and procedures for JHAH patients.

JHM plastic surgery expert Dr. Richard Redett is on medical rotation at JHAH in Dhahran on Oct. 16-20. Both a director and professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Redett’s areas of clinical expertise include pediatric plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, obstetric brachial plexus palsy reconstruction, facial paralysis, pediatric burn surgery, and reconstruction and genital reconstruction.

 

His visit is allotted for prescheduled complex cases and procedures for JHAH patients.

JHM gynecologic surgery expert Dr. Karen Wang will join JHAH in Dhahran for a medical rotation on Oct. 16-20. Wang is the fellowship director of the AAGL Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery and assistant professor of gynecology and obstetrics.

  

A fellowship trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, her primary clinical focus is on the surgical management of benign gynecologic conditions, including abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and office procedures. Wang's research interests include quality and safety, surgical outcomes, and surgical training.

 

Her visit is allotted for prescheduled complex cases and procedures for JHAH patients.

JHM bariatric surgery expert Dr. Michael Schweitzer will join the JHAH Bariatric Surgery Team on medical rotation in Dhahran on Oct. 23-27.

  

Schweitzer is director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Bariatric Surgery.
