The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) has partnered the Gamers 8 event organized by the Saudi Esports Federation in Riyadh. The two-month event concludes Sept. 7

The partnership brings multiple components to the educational pillar of Gamers 8, as Ithra is hosting experts in augmented reality (AR) creative content development through dialogue sessions. Ithra is also holding an exhibition to showcase the best international content in XR and immersive gaming experiences, in addition to showcasing last year’s winning projects from the creative solutions program.

The partnership also includes a series of discussion panels that talks about immersive technology and the growing world of tech and gaming, even touching base on the metaverse.

The plan as a whole is to promote the Creative Solutions program to local innovators, showcasing the potential of a program that can spark potential in community talent, as well as support the gaming and tech community through workshops, talks, and panels hosted by Ithra through Gamers 8 event.

Five winning projects from last year’s Creative Soultions program are being showcased at the event.

Creative Solutions Program

The Creative Solutions Program is an annual innovation program hosted by Ithra that covers a wide range of fields such as art, science, technology, and others. The goal of the program is to find opportunities and solutions to challenges by using immersive digital technologies such as augmented, virtual, mixed, and extended reality.

Participants are directed to develop innovative digital concepts and transform them into viable models with the help of creative and innovative experts, consultants, mentors, and trainers.

Mizna A. Alzamil, head of the Creativity and Innovation at Ithra, said that the Creative Solutions projects affirms Ithra’s role in supporting marketable sustainable technical solutions and supporting them locally and globally. The available opportunities helped participants make transformations after passing through training stages, workshops, and discussions to learn about immersive technologies.
