Two young professionals from Aramco win project management awards

Riyadh recently hosted the first session of the annual two-day international Global Project Management Forum. 

 

Under the auspices of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, the forum was organized by the Project Management Institute of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Chapter under the slogan of “The Future of Project Management: Digitization and Adaptation to Change.

 

The event focused on four themes, including:

  • Infrastructure
  • Technology and innovation
  • Smart cities
  • Social development.

 

Aramco professionals won two prestigious recognitions during this year’s Global Project Excellence Awards at the event: the Young Professional Award, and Paper of the Year Award.

 

Young Professional Award

Haitham Alsaraj, a project engineer in Aramco’s Maritime and Development Projects Department, earned the Young Professional Award. The competition among many young professional applicants for this award was fierce and challenging, given the significant contributions to the project management profession by all. 

 

Paper of the Year Award

Ageel Al Khaldi, a project manager in Armaco’s Jazan Complex Projects Department, received second place in the Paper of the Year Award category for his paper “Best Practices in Managing Mega-Brownfield Projects in Gas and Oil.” The paper highlights the best practices in managing brownfield mega-projects in gas and oil facilities during the execution of the Clean Fuels Project.
