Taif roses have grown for three centuries in western Saudi Arabia.

 

Amid the towering Sarawat mountains, 860 farms grow 2.5 million rose bushes. 

 

500 million roses are harvested each year between March and April.

 

The 30-petal Taif rose is picked at daybreak. Its pure petals are processed into expensive rose oil.
