Waleed A. Al-Saif appointed as vice president of New Business Development

Waleed A. Al-Saif has been appointed vice president of Aramco’s New Business Development (NBD) organization, effective April 1, 2022.

Prior to this appointment, he held the position of executive director of NBD, and before that, general manager of Portfolio Development & Transaction Execution, both within Aramco’s Corporate Development organization.

Al-Saif started his career in 1998 in Aramco’s Treasury. He has a diverse exposure to various areas within Treasury, Controllers, NBD, Investor Relations, and Corporate Development.

In 2019, Al-Saif was in charge of the execution phase of the Aramco IPO. In 2018, he was assigned as the chief financial officer of PRefChem, a joint venture between Aramco and Petronas in Malaysia.

In 2016, Al-Saif was tasked to serve as a member of the Steering Committee established to develop the Kingdom’s borrowing program under the Ministry of Finance.

He has held several other managerial assignments, including general manager of Regional Investor Relations, general manager of Transaction Development, and held assignments as manager of Corporate Finance & Project Development, Treasury Advisory, Project Advisory, Treasury Services, Investment Management, Financial Risk Management, Transaction Policy & Development, as well as Domestic and Export Sales & Shipping Accounting, and managing director of Wa’ed. 

Al-Saif is currently serving as board member of the King Salman Energy Park and the Saudi Aramco Development Company, and also the shareholder representative for the International Maritime Industries. He is also a director of the PRefChem board and chairman of its Board Audit Committee, as well as the board of the Saudi Arabian Industrial Investment Company (Dussur) and chairman of its Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee, and chairman of the Board for the recently established Aramco Oil Pipeline Company.

He holds a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Tampa, and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas. 

Al-Saif has participated in Aramco’s Leadership Forum, the Asia Business and Culture Program, and completed an Executive Program at Columbia University.
