April 1935, Drilling starts at the first oil well in Dammam

 

December 1936, Work on the first deep well begins at Well 7

 

November 1937, Max Steineke examines Well 7 and directs to keep drilling

 

March 4, 1938, Announcement of Well 7 flowing in commercial quantities of oil at 1,585 barrels a day

 

March 7, 1938, The Flow rate from Well 7 more than doubles

 

August 30, 1938, Saudi Arabia becomes a major oil-producing nation

 

May 1, 1939, King Abdulaziz turns the valve that sends oil to a tanker for the first export of oil from Ras Tanura

 

1982 Well 7 is shut down after producing more than 32 million barrels

 

April 11, 1999, HRH Crown Prince Abdullah visits Well 7 and names it the Prosperity Well
