Promoting a culture of quality in local manufacturing

Aramco recently recognized a number of local manufacturers — who demonstrated a strong commitment to supply high quality products — during the 2021 Local Manufacturers Quality Excellence Awards ceremony, held at the Plaza Conference Center on Dec. 23. 

In its fourth consecutive year, the awards are part of Aramco’s efforts to promote a quality-focused culture within the Saudi manufacturing industry that elevates the performance of local manufacturers allowing them to compete in regional and international markets.

Every year, the event conducted by Aramco’s Engineering Services (ES) raises the bar for local manufacturers to:

• Attain an excellent service provision
• Optimize a significant level of Saudization
• Demonstrate a reliable supply chain; not only for the Kingdom, but also for the entire region under the slogan of “Saudi Made.”

A platform to showcase quality

This annual event has become a platform to showcase best-in-class quality management practices of our local manufacturers to exchange expertise and explore additional collaboration opportunities toward effective partnerships.

During the closing remarks, acting chief engineer Khalid Y. Qahtani commended local manufacturer’s contribution in the supply chain management system saying: “For decades, our local business partners successfully served our need to supply a substantial amount of materials and equipment that meet our quality standards. This enabled Aramco to be a reliable source for energy and chemicals.”

In this year’s awards ceremony, Aramco honored 13 high performing local manufacturers in terms of quality under three different categories:

• Large Manufacturers Category (five winners)
• Small and Medium Manufacturers Category (five winners)
• Best Improved Quality Performance Category (three winners).
