Transporting Aramco to the next level
Transportation and Equipment Services Department obtains two new international certificates.
After a series of probing audits and extensive documentation reviews, Aramco’s Transportation and Equipment Services Department (T&ESD) has been granted two international standard certifications that demonstrate its ability to provide high quality transportation and equipment services to our organizations.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has awarded T&ESD with two key industry accreditations, which are the ISO 9001 “Quality Management System,” and ISO 55001 “Asset Management System.”
These certifications show the department’s commitment to continuous improvement and meeting customer expectations.

Organizational transformation
Al Ajmi said the certificates come at the right time as the organization shifts its focus to managing critical services rather than just providing them.
Since T&ESD services extend to a vast array of costumers, including company employees, dependents, and contractors, providing the highest quality is a top priority.
ISO 9001 ensures that the organization meets customer expectations. Hadi H. Al Sagour, superintendent of the Fleet and Roads Engineering Division, said: “Being an internationally accredited organization comes as part of our efforts to be a center of excellence in transportation, equipment and roads service. We have extensively worked to adapt the standard requirements and ensure the full alignment with T&ESD’s internal policies and procedures.”
Taking asset management to new levels
ISO 55001 specifies the international standards in managing assets. Since T&ESD manages a large number of fleet assets reaching over 17,000 fleet units, in addition to hundreds of kilometers of company roads and paved assets, it is crucial to have an effective system that ensures these assets are always in a reliable and in excellent operational condition.
The Asset Management System helps T&ESD ensure the reliability of its fleet and roads assets despite being in continuous movement to support all of the company’s production facilities Kingdomwide.
Accreditations were obtained through a two-stage process, consisting of a high-level audit followed by audit interviews.
