Safe Life for a Better Life
Virtual workshop highlights importance of safety as a lifestyle
“Safety has grown from something we were doing to a way of doing things.”
Safety goes beyond the bounds of work; it is a way of life.
This was one of the main messages of a virtual off-the-job safety workshop conducted recently by the Southern Area and Regional Power Operations Department. Topics included: COVID-19 Precautions; Home Fire Safety; Healthy Lifestyle; Home Electrical Safety; Slips, Trips, and Falls; Unsafe Driving Habits, and more.
More than 170 people attended the online workshop, including employees from the Fire Protection Department, Industrial Security, and Loss Prevention, as well as families of employees, with more than seven different presentations providing critical safety knowledge related to off-the-job safety principles at work and at home.
“Safety has grown from something we were doing to a way of doing things,” said Muhammad H. Al Harbi, SA&RPOD manager. Al Harbi added that a few simple steps can ensure the safety of our loved ones but that ignoring these steps could jeopardize our well-being.
Western Region Power Operations Division head Makram Allaggani noted the integral nature of safety and business performance. “Business performance and safety performance are inseparable,” he said.
