Ithra celebrates ‘Id al-Fitr with ‘Beams of Joys’

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) will host a variety of activities to celebrate the festival of ‘Id Al-Fitr under the theme, “Ithra’s Eid: Beams of Joy.”

The celebration, which will last for three days beginning the second day of ‘Id (tentatively May 14-16), features a diverse range of programs and activities for all ages, where visitors will enjoy a unique family interactive experience.

Terra

Ithra’s ‘Id al-Fitr program will showcase “Terra,” a first-of-its-kind environmental art exhibition at the center that reimagines the ways we can solve some of the most pressing environmental problems of our time.

By hosting this exhibition, which is organized and designed by Arcadia Earth, Ithra is looking to meet environmental goals in finding effective solutions for efficient waste management and renewable energy sources, focusing on solar energy, protecting marine and coastal ecosystems, and reducing desertification.

The exhibition will run until Sept.  30.

Holographic statues

Ithra will also feature a hologram installation designed to portray the people of Saudi Arabia, including Ithra audiences, providing visitors with a first-of-its-kind in the Middle East experience as 5-meter-tall holographic statues will be on display.

Other activities include interactive art installations, live shows, art and local crafts exhibitions, in addition to food trucks that cater to all tastes. All of these events comply with the precautionary measures implemented by the Kingdom to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, including social distancing.

Also, Ithra’s celebration will inspire its young visitors through a collection of entertaining programs and activities with special educational themes. Children will join exciting stations with their families, where they will learn about visual arts and their history.

The Center will offer a number of restaurants and dining experiences, featuring various Arabic and international cuisines.

You can book your ‘Id tickets through www.ithra.com, as there is a current requirement to book specific time slots for the activities due to COVID-19 prevention and precautionary measures.
