Aramco's senior vice president of Downstream Mohammed Y. Al-Qahtani spoke about the company's ongoing efforts in responding to climate change and the pandemic in a fireside chat Wednesday as part of IP Week, held this year virtually.

In a discussion titled "Opportunities for Transformation in a Post-COVID-19 World," Al-Qahtani highlighted that the company’s carbon intensity for its oil production is already amongst the lowest in the world, at about 10kg of CO2 equivalent. In addition the company’s methane intensity is also amongst the lowest in the world.

Later the same day, Aramco’s head of HR and Support Services of Chemicals, Reem Al-Ghanim, participated in a panel session titled, “The Future of Work.”

Earlier in the week, Aramco hosted its own Virtual Energy Forum, “Energy Reimagined.” The online forum saw remarks and a question-and-answer session with Aramco’s vice president of Marketing and Sales, Ahmed A. Al-Subaey, and its chief technology officer, Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter.
